Seaport was appointed to undertaken assessments of how to implement a new RORO freight service to compete with ASDP the state owned ferry on the Merak-Bakahuni Ferry.
Among other services Seaport undertook:
- Review of regulations and assessment of how to comply and develop service.
- Analysis of potential sites for development as terminals (3 greenfield and 2 existing dedicated terminals for conversion)
- Sizing of ship required to deliver competitive services (capacity, length, draft and speed)
- Identification of potential strategic partners (Stena Line and Meratus Line)
